Is your Desinger Hand Bag Authentic?

Is your Desinger Hand Bag Authentic?

by: Sher Matsen

You pay a pretty penny for a Gucci bag or any other designer handbag be it Fendi, Prada, Chanel or Dior. Your friends are drooling over that gorgeous Gucci Turquoise Leather Handbag you just bought. Wait until they hear what a great deal you got!
But is it authentic or is it a fake? Determining authenticity can be a bit tricky because some fakes are done very well. However if you know what to watch for you can spot a fake in a minute!
The first thing you need to do is look at the bag itself. Do the materials look to be of the highest quality? How about the stitching? There should be no loose or uneven threads and the thread should match the bag exactly. If the bag is leather the logo will be engraved into the leather.
Next have a...

A Tool for Early Breast Cancer Screening

by: Brenda Witt

Who isn’t familiar with the expression, “early detection is the best prevention?” We hear this term throughout the year and most everyone is familiar with this “catch phrase” as it relates to breast cancer. Obviously, a woman’s chance for survival improves when a cancer is found early. We hear that simple rhyming statement but are women really offered early detection?
Our “gold standard” for breast cancer screening is mammography, clinical breast exam and self-breast exam. Other techniques are used but ALL current technologies examine structure; something is formed and large enough to be seen or felt...

Changes During a Woman’s Menopause

Changes During a Woman’s Menopause

by: Dawn Olsen

As baby boomers move into midlife, a woman’s menopause does not have quite the alarming effect that it did some years ago. However, it remains a time of change in her life, as the ovaries start shutting down causing hormones to fluctuate. When this occurs, her childbearing years come to an end. A woman’s menopause is a perfectly normal process that occurs over several years, but the physical and emotional changes associated with this “change of life” will vary from woman to woman. Some women experience symptoms that include hot flashes, mood swings, memory difficulties, vaginal dryness, and insomnia, while other women experience no symptoms whatsoever.
Too often, women even confuse natural aging changes with menopause...

Chandelier Earrings: Cascading Elegance

Chandelier Earrings: Cascading Elegance

by: Sam Serio

Earrings come in many forms, and the complexity of the style reflects the sophistication of the wearer’s taste. One of the most elegant and complex designs is the chandelier cut. Chandelier earrings – as they are simply called – are a more complicated variant of the drop earrings, which are usually made of just one stone or material. Chandelier earrings may be a mix of two or more stones, or an elaborate web of stones and metal. They are longer than drop earrings and often reach far down the neck area without touching the shoulders.
“Chandelier” in itself sounds bulky and reminds one of the heavy cascading lights in party halls and fancy ballrooms...

Herbs for Profection

Herbs for Profection

by: Sam Stevens

If you have never used plant matter in magic before, I explain in detail in the column Plants, Herbs and Roots for Prosperity the different ways these substances can be practically used in rituals and everyday practice. In brief, the main methods of using plant material to summon protection are: carrying the substance on your person in a locket or a sachet, boiling the herb and sprinkling the residual water around your residence, putting a sprig of it under your bed or pillow, bathing in a distillation of it or burning it as incense. Also with love attracting, just keeping the living plant in your house can help increase your vibrations. Below I have detailed where an herb can be used for a specific protective purpose.

No More Love Handles

No More Love Handles

by: S.P. Bragg

Love handles can disappear if you put your mind to it. Here are some easy ways… I like easy… and when the excess has disappeared, treat yourself to something nice.

Set yourself mini goals that are easy to meet. Start with how much water you would like to add to your daily intake and make that one goal. Another could be about eating raw veggies every day. Each week could be a new goal. But make them easy.
Learn to say no to family members that will coax you to have that one little piece of pie. Be strong and stick to it! They will stop when they see how serious you are.
If you want to lose those love handles, write it down especially around the refrigerator. Posting notes on the door will serve as a reminder.
If you don’t like to exercise, join a gym...

I Need a Wedding Director and a Tux?

Well folks, I never thought I’d be writing a column like this one, because quite frankly I never thought I’d be this old. This week’s subject matter is going to be a bit of a surprise, and I’m already guessing that some of you will be smiling when I tell you what it is, so off we go:
My daughter Alison, my dear, sweet 21 year old Alison, is engaged to be married!
That’s right, my young daughter is engaged to be married. Isn’t that just amazing? Can you imagine someone as youthful as I having a soon-to-be married daughter? I thought not. And, to tell y’all the truth, I’m quite happy about it. The boy Alison’s going to marry, Dave Wallace, is a fine young man...

Starting with body, you want to look slim and happy in your wedding gown not bloated and insecure so watch what you eat in the months coming up to the wedding and exercise regularly. Relationship Advice: First Date Sex? Should You?

Relationship Advice: First Date Sex? Should You?

by: Terry Hernon MacDonald

Everybody on TV seems to be tumbling into bed on the first date these days, but should you? Absolutely not, and I don’t care if you’ve been celibate since 1996.
Here’s why:

Chances are, you’ve just met the guy. You know nothing about him, let alone whether he bathes daily, or if he’s one of those losers who picks his nose at stoplights.
My OB/GYN estimates that two out of five people are walking around with Herpes Simplex II. Some of them don’t even know it. Do you want to become one of the two out of five?
If you have sex with a guy on a first date, how do you know that he doesn’t leap into the sack with every other woman he meets? Do you really want to get involved with someone that easy? He doesn’t make quali...

Dating Dilemma: The Man Who Said He’d Call and Didn’t

by: Terry Hernon MacDonald

You went out with the guy. You both had a great time (or at least you thought he did!). You said goodnight, and he said he’d call you.
He didn’t.
Why? What did you say to offend him? Was it your hair? Your clothes? Your weight? What’s wrong with you, anyway?
The answers to those questions are as follows: Who cares? Nothing, no, no, no, and not a damn thing.
Every woman in the world–no matter how thin, beautiful, smart, kind or talented–has been disappointed by a guy she really liked who said he’d call but didn’t.
Whatever you do, don’t call him. Why? Because he said he’d call you, and he didn’t...

What Do Men Want from Women?

What Do Men Want from Women?

by: Bob Grant

Actually, it’s pretty simple. Deep inside the heart of every man is a secret wish to be trusted. How many times have men said to their wives, “If you would just trust me.” Many men wonder why it seems so difficult for their wives to do something so seemingly simple. The answer stems from the physiological differences between the sexes.
It begins at birth when little boys are given a distinct physical advantage over little girls by having higher levels of testosterone. With testosterone comes the physical strength to both defend themselves from danger and/or run away from a threat. Most little girls don’t have that ability. They don’t have the strength to defend themselves in a physically fight when they feel threatened...

Finding a Romantic Gift for Her

Finding a Romantic Gift for Her

by: Marguerite Bonneville

Let’s face it. In many ways women are easy to buy for. Most of us love the traditional romantic gifts including:

Chocolates
Flowers
Jewelry
Lingerie
Perfume
Candles
Soft Toys
Clothes

But on the other hand we’re difficult to buy for. We know what we like, and we don’t want to settle for less. We pay attention to little things, so we appreciate it when you give us a gift in our favorite color, or one that has special meaning.
We love romantic gestures, like poetry, love letters and romantic music. Men often consider us gullible when they see us being ‘taken in’ by another man’s soft words and candlelight dinners. The truth is, we often know when we’re being played, but we can’t help responding to the gesture...

A Female Soldier’s Last Battle

A Female Soldier’s Last Battle

by: Donald Schnell

I arrived at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in 1974, in my 19th year, into the heart of the 82nd Airborne Division at the John F. Kennedy Center. The old timers called Fort Bragg “Little Hell.” The 82nd Airborne was the first to engage the enemy on land to protect America’s freedom. Even in peacetime, there was always a natural tension of readiness and alertness among the troops and around the base itself.
Every other day or so a C-40 transport plane would arrive with a load of America’s kids, gaunt, aged, gray-haired beyond their years. Some shielded themselves with a barrier of hostility. They wouldn’t let you get close, didn’t want to know anyone, didn’t want anyone else to die in their arms...
